This Privacy Policy explains what information Starzation (“we”, “us”, the “game”) collects when you play, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We are privacy-first by design: we collect only what the game needs to run, we do not run third-party advertising networks, and we host in the European Union.
1. What we collect
- Account information. When you sign in with Telegram or Google, we receive a unique account identifier, your display name / nickname, and (where provided by the platform) your language and country/region. We do not receive your password. From Google we only request your basic profile and email needed to create and recover your account.
- Game data. Your progress and state: colonies, buildings, research, fleets, card collection, squadron runs, alliance membership, chat messages, market activity, in-game purchases and rewards. This is the data that makes a persistent MMO work.
- Technical & security data. Basic connection metadata such as IP address, device/browser type, approximate region, and event timestamps. We use this to keep accounts secure and to detect bots, multi-accounting, collusion and other abuse — anti-abuse is a core part of the game.
- Cookies & basic analytics. We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies/local storage to keep you signed in and remember settings, plus privacy-respecting, aggregated analytics to understand how features are used. We do not use cross-site advertising trackers or sell behavioural profiles.
2. How we use it
- To create and operate your account and save your progress.
- To run multiplayer features: alliances, chat, the player market and leaderboards.
- To keep the game fair and secure — preventing cheating, bots and fraud.
- To provide support and respond to your requests.
- To improve the game using aggregated, non-identifying usage data.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. Third parties we work with
We share data only with service providers that help us run the game, and only as needed:
- Telegram — when you play through the Telegram Mini App or sign in with Telegram. Your use of Telegram is also governed by Telegram’s own privacy policy.
- Google — when you choose to sign in with Google, for authentication only.
- Cloudflare — content delivery, DDoS protection and security in front of our servers.
- Hosting providers (EU). Our game servers and databases are hosted in the European Union (Germany).
We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose data if required by law or to protect the rights, safety and security of our players and the service.
4. How long we keep it
We keep your account and game data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain records to comply with the law, resolve disputes, or prevent abuse (for example, limited security logs).
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the EU/EEA GDPR), you have the right to access, correct, export, restrict or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You can delete your account from inside the game at any time, or contact us using the details below. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
6. Children
Starzation is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under that age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the game evolves or as the law changes. We will post the updated version here and revise the “last updated” date. Significant changes will be announced in-game or via our channels.
